Breathing in, I am aware of the presence of (a mental formation such as equanimity, love, anger, pride, confusion, etc).
Breathing out, I smile to this mental formation.
Breathing in, I see that I am not just this mental formation, but that it is a part of who I am in this moment.
Breathing out, I smile to the mental formation with love and non-violence.
Breathing in, I embrace the mental formation.
Breathing out, I calm the mental formation.
